Shots and Thoughts

This week started out kind of rough, by week I mean the actual work week, since I start work on Tuesdays I still tend to get a case of the Mondays. Tuesday can't disguise itself as much at it seems to sound nicer than Monday.
It was one of those days where trivial things pile up and make you feel ultimately defeated by the end of the day. Mine started with the dumbest of dumb things: the new dress I bought didn't fit like I wanted it too, not important really but I ended up needing to rush around the house finding something else to wear. I ended up being a bit late for work which is frustrating for me because I've been working so hard on my punctuality and I've been doing great. The rest of the day was mostly spent battling anxiety, and if you know how anxiety is then you know that it's the worst. I just wanted to start the day over on a different foot or go back to bed completely. At the end of the day I just had to tell myself to make the next day better.
Yesterday was better, I just needed to take Stella to the vet for her rabies shot. I also had the vet look at her leg because she has been randomly limping. She hates car rides, they make her so nervous, so I felt like a jerk making her go all the way to a new place. I've kept her too sheltered I think, because she get incredibly anxious around new people and new things. She was well behaved at the vet thankfully. Just scared. It didn't take long and she was definitely glad to be home after. I had to run to work after so I spent the entire day worrying about her, scared that she might have given herself a panic attack or had a bad reaction to the shot.
Also, might I add because it seemed to be a reoccurring event this week {see the post about my Sunday issues} that once I got to work my shoe broke. That was lovely. At least they were older and had some good wear in them. C'est la vie!

Today actually felt normal, which was nice. Work went smoothly despite it being insanely busy {I am not a fan of back-to-back calls...yuck} and luckily I had no wardrobe malfunctions.

Yep! We have a new addition to our little family. This little nugget found her way into our hearts and we couldn't bear to not bring her home with us.
Saturday Taran and I went out for lunch before I had to work. Afterwards I mentioned that we should stop by PetSmart to pick up a new toy for Stella {it happened to be her birthday. [Yes I know these things]}
As luck would have it, we would choose to go to the pet store on the day they were doing open adoptions. I have such a soft spot for puppies and just dogs in general, I couldn't just walk by without looking. We spotted this little baby right away, and I fell in love. She kept licking me and sticking her paws out so I would pet her. Taran was interested in her sister who looked more like a lab, but for some reason I kept going back to this one. The longer we stayed there talking to her and playing with her, the more I couldn't tear myself away. We talked to one of the ladies running the adoption part and she told us about the shelter they kept her at and how they were not very well taken care of there.
Eventually we decided that there was no way we could leave without this sweetheart. We filled out the paperwork, bought her a collar and brought her to her new home with us.

Taran chose the name Mila for her {as in Mila Kunis or Mila Jovovich} and we are so happy! Stella was a little timid at first, she wasn't aggressive or mean, but she didn't like the puppy to touch her at all.
Right now we're focusing on getting her potty trained! Luckily that was one thing I NEVER had a problem with when Stella was little, she caught on very quickly.

She's adorable and I'm so glad we added her to our little family :)

sunshine

Today it was so lovely and warm outside. I opened all the blinds and curtains, put on some shorts instead of sweatpants and cleaned the house a bit.
After deciding it was much too nice outside to ignore it, I took my little pup out for a nice walk.
She must have really enjoyed it because she's completely passed out right now. I think she's worn out.

Hooray for Spring!

bitchin'

Don't you love that my little pup wanted to join me? She's fashionable too.

Some days you just need to vent. Whether it's over life in general or over little things.
That's where I am today. Just little things that made me shake my head in disbelief, laugh and use my blog to bitch it out.

So, this one is for the jerk that almost rear ended me this morning, and then had the nerve to look at me like I was the dumb one! Listen here sir, you just made an illegal left turn and I know that for a fact because I had to pay a $90 ticket for doing the same thing awhile ago. Clearly you are not the only person that has somewhere to be. Do it properly and save yourself from causing an accident. Thanks.

And this one is to the girls who treat us badly when they go shopping. You're no better than me just because I'm here to help you. I'm a person too. Thanks.

Another one for the customer who got mad because we have policies and we follow them strictly. You had 30 days to return your items, I don't care if you are a day late. I'm not losing my job because you didn't want your clothes anymore. Thanks

Oh, and one more for myself for not wearing some shorts underneath this romper. Whoops, it's a lot shorter than I thought and I'm glad the time I realized that was when I was bent over in the back room, away from customers. Note to self for next time!

I feel better now. :)
I hope everyone had a good Wednesday! All ranting aside, I had a really good day.

Thursday Things

  • I had to run some errands today and while I was driving past Starbucks I saw Crystal's car so I figured I'd go to the bank and after turn around and visit her. By the time I got back to Starbucks her car was gone and everyone said I had just missed her. Darn! But I bought myself a treat while I was there. Iced White Mocha. Yum!
  • Gentry and I took little Stella on a walk today. She freaks out and barks her little head off whenever we pass a house with dogs, or people. It's not that she's aggressive it's just a spoiled baby who never interacts or gets out of the house. When I took her yesterday she would flip out, start barking and practically choke herself trying to run and the entire walk was stressful. Today when we took her she still barked and tried to run, but she didn't completely flip out like yesterday. I think she's making progress and we just need to take her more often and get her lazy bum out of the house!
  • I went through my closet recently and attempted to sell some of it to Plato's Closet, but they are kind of a rip-off and they didn't give me crap for clothes that I hardly wore and were in perfectly good condition. In fact, most of the stuff they didn't even take. I decided I'd post photos of them on Facebook to try to sell them that way, instead of just giving them to a thrift store. I decided the money I make from it is going to go towards me getting my teeth fixed up. Luckily a friend was interested in quite a few items and I was able to send them to her and she sent me a check in return. Hopefully I can save enough to at least help with the cost of my much needed dental work.
  • My car has been acting funny, it stressed me out bad because Taran said it might be the fuel pump. Whatever it is, I know it's more money that I don't have. Ugh. So I went to my go-to venting place and tweeted about it. Later I get a text from my wonderful best friend Jerrica saying "Go look under your windshield wiper" and I found this sweet little note and $20. She didn't have to do that, but knowing that I have friends willing to help means the world to me. I feel so blessed.
  • Babysitting time. Gentry and I sat outside and drew pictures with chalk. He drew a pretty sweet unicorn {his looked better than mine} and a flower and an alien. I went with the usual 'I love Taran' and a sun. I love chalk.
  • After my stress out over my car {and other countless things} I decided to take a moment to myself and craft. It always calms my nerves and I can put my energy into creating something instead of getting upset. I used the box that the chalk came in and created a little piggy bank type thing. It's not done yet, but I'll use to to save whatever cash I get from spare change, selling clothes and pulling some extra cash out of each check. I think it'll be a good thing.

In a nutshell

This weekend was pretty fabulous! I finally started feeling better and not so mopey, and that's always a plus.
I worked all day Friday which was a nice change from the whole only working 3 hours at a time thing.
Taran got the whole weekend off so I got to spend some quality time with the love of my life. That's always good for me!
L: Midnight junk food run, I know we're so bad. But we do what we want ok? :) R: It was "dress day" at Charlotte Russe and I wanted to wear this cute white one I got at Rue 21 at the end of last summer. I wore a cobalt blue cardigan from Wet Seal and cobalt blue flats from Target {didn't get a pic :( boo} and my cute matching headband from Icing. A customer told me I could be Snow White in Disneyland. Count me in!

Easter, unfortunately, just felt like another day. I'm not a terribly religious person, but I appreciate Easter for what it's about. Normally we would have baskets and hunt for eggs {well, I would eat candy and watch the boys hunt for eggs} but the kiddos went with their dad for Easter. It ended up just being me, mom and Taran which was fine and everything I just missed my bros.
We went to my aunt's house and had lunch, visited, ate chocolate and generally hung out. Afterwards Taran and I took little Stella for a walk along this path near my house. Poor thing has only ridden in a car 1 other time and she was terrified of it. I made Taran hold her and try to calm her down while I drove, even though it was just down the street she was so stressed. Luckily once we parked got out and started walking around she was fine.
Later that night we met Katie and Crystal at Chili's to have some chips, salsa and drinks. Poor Katie had an awful Easter so we wanted to hang out and cheer her up! We ended up having a few drinks and going to Katie's apartment to play "Friends" Scene It! We all thought Taran would kick butt because he loves that show {and he's not ashamed, he's so cool} but Katie won!
It was a lot of fun.

Top L: My cousins had little chicks that they got for Easter and they brought them to my aunts house. They were so cute and had the most adorable little chirp sound. They like to be held too! Top R: Me and Mr. handsome Taran spending the first of many Easters together! Bottom L: The pond near my house where we took Stella. Taran is a little stinker sometimes and won't take cute pictures with me. But sometimes I like the goofy ones better anyway haha. Bottom R: Stella enjoyed the walk to the pond and she kept wanting to chase ducks and other dogs. Please ignore the offensive stuff written on the bench. I didn't notice it until just now. Some people have no class or respect.

Once again I get sad when Monday rolls around, back to work for Taran and his weird shifts mean he just stays home at night. Boo.
But what can ya do? One day we'll have our own place!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and Easter!
