This is Halloween

Well, it was a bit frustrating, but I finally figured out how to upload a template on here and made my blog look a bit more fun! I'm telling you, I am awful at editing things...HTML and I just do not get along. Plus I don't have a lot of patience when it comes to codes and things so I get frustrated easier. But it looks good for now right? I like it.

Is everyone ready for Halloween? It is definitely my favorite holiday and I wish there were more days in the year we could wear costumes. This year I struggled deciding on a costume, nothing really stood out and made me say "Yes! Winner!" I was tossing around the idea of being Snow White, while Taran was thinking of going as Dexter. After having a Tim Burton movie marathon one night the idea of a corpse-bride Beetlejuice couple type thing. I looked around costumes stores but all of the 'zombie bride' costumes were tacky and looked nothing like an actual bride. After debating for a little while I got the idea that we should just put together a dead bride and groom costume ourselves. I opted for the vintage Victorian style because I thought it would be a bit more eerie and fun. We went shopping and picked out some awesome things, including a real bridal gown from the thrift store! I was so pleased.
Last Saturday we got to put our costumes on for the first time and go to a party with people from his work. It was so much fun getting ready and seeing the final product. {And I won't lie, it was pretty fun destroying our costumes with Trevor's hunting knife-ha!}
We got a lot of compliments on it and everyone asked "are you from Beetlejuice or something?" I knew going in a Tim Burton-esque direction would work out.

We're going to another party this Saturday and we get to look this awesome for a second time.
Taran, me and Trevor {Taran's co-worker and roommate} who went as GI Joe
Taran got his pants, button up, and jacket at Saver's; his bow tie and top hat were from their Halloween selection. The vest was from a costume store {you'd be surprised how hard it was to find a regular vest that wasn't full price. Impossible}
My dress was also from Saver's, the gloves were from Claire's and the veil was from Icing. Roses from Wal Mart wrapped with crafting ribbon I already had.
Cameo pin is my mom's and she let me wear it to pull the whole look together. Thanks mom!

Welcome to October

Top/Skirt: Charlotte Russe | Leggings: Wal Mart | Boots/Bracelet/Earrings: Wet Seal
I am shocked that it is actually October already. I can't believe this year is almost over!
It feels like I should be getting ready to go to Disneyland...not like I've already been there {although I wouldn't mind going again...just sayin'}
Soon it's going to be Halloween, and I haven't even thought of what I want to be yet. Taran and I have bounced around ideas, but mostly I just want him to be Dexter. I've thought about maybe Snow White, or a vampire...more specifically a Victorian era Vampire. Like Katherine from The Vampire Diaries.
Who knows, I still have awhile to think about it and decide.
For now I'm going to enjoy watching the leaves fall, drinking warm coffees, buying sweaters and boots, taking Stella for walks, and maybe watching some scary movies.
I love Fall...Summer is right up there with it, and I'm not sure which one I like more. I do know: that I love fall fashion, it's beautiful, it's not too hot, and Halloween is my favorite. I just wish it didn't turn into bitter yucky winter. I despise winter.

Yesterday Taran and I took a drive to Tooele to visit his family. His mom and step-dad are visiting from Minnesota and staying with his Aunt. They had everyone over for dinner last night and we finally got to see his new baby nephew! He's adorable, and I should have taken a picture.
I adore his family. They are funny, and loving and kind. I like to think of them as my own family, although I know we're not quite there yet. {Unfortunately....haha}
I did have a great time though and I'm glad our schedules worked out so that we were able to make a visit.
Hopefully we can start working out a way to see everyone at least once a month, because we see my family all the time...it would be nice to get to know his a bit more!

In other news, I hate Corporate visits at work...I get nervous and anxious and I'm always afraid of screwing up!
I did survive it though. We'll see what happens tomorrow....

Someone Like You

"Never mind
I'll find someone like you
I wish nothing but the best for you too
"Don't forget me", I begged
"I'll remember", you said
"Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead."
Sometimes it lasts in love
But sometimes it hurts instead,
Yeah."

 I can't be mad at my boyfriend. It's like....not possible. Even if I want to be and even if I try, he just doesn't make me that mad. So I'll be fuming for a minute, expecting a fight or something. But guess what happens instead? This is what happens:
Him: "I'm really sorry babe!"
Me: {in an attempt to be bitter and annoyed} "It's fine, I've just been waiting around and I didn't know what was going on."
Him: "I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you I promise!"
And then he proceeds to tell me that he loves me a lot and he can't wait to see me. What a jerk huh? I mean I'm sitting here trying to be mad at him and he goes and apologizes for his own mistake. I mean - what!? Who does that?
Clearly he is the logical, reasonable, composed one in this relationship.
And I'm still trying to get used to the fact that my boyfriend is mature. Haha.

In other news, I still can't French Braid like I wish I could

And in other news.....I put this outfit on a mannequin at work and then bought it because I liked it so much.

Oh, and Adele....her voice is perfection. Lyrics and title unrelated, they're just amazing.

The Boy Who Lived & Purple Hair

Taran, me, Crystal, Katie, Becca and Jerrica. Missing Muzzy because he was stuck in the giant concession line D:
Taran drew the Dark Mark on me :) he did a good job!
Many mixed emotions....also we are the golden trio :)

My very first post on this blog was about the midnight premier of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I. I can't believe it's been 7 months since seeing that movie.
And Thursday night we all went back to the theater to see the end. The final installment. The ending of our childhood. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II.
I've never felt such conflicting emotions before. I was incred
ibly excited, but terribly heartbroken at the very same time. I never knew I could feel that way together.
Taran was able to come with us, so that was a big plus! {Even though the poor guy had to be at work at 7AM!}

The movie was excellent.
I laughed, I sobbed cried, I cheered...and I can't believe it's actually over. Ten years of movies, even more years of books.
I grew up with Harry.
"We defended the Stone, we found the Chamber, we freed the Prisoner, we were chosen by the Goblet, we fought alongside the Order, we learnt from the Prince, and we mastered the Hallows. We are the Harry Potter generation" - Unknown
I'm sad, but grateful to have been apart of this journey with Harry and the entire gang of characters. And I know I'll get to share these incredible stories with my own children someday.

In other news: I got my hair done the other day and I'm completely in love with it! I felt like doing something crazy funky and I decided on purple. Loooove it! :)

7/7/11

Oh, hello.

  {Warning: long post ahead}
As you may have noticed I took a little break from the blogging world. I felt like I had a lot going on and keeping up with this was just one more thing that I didn't need to focus on. I feel like blogging takes me forever to actually get done and I haven't been on the internet for more than 5 minutes in about a week. I get distracted easily and flip through Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and anything else while I type up my blog!
But I'm back, and I probably won't take a long break like that again. I know I'm not an every-single-day updater, but I'll work on more than once a week ;)

Updates on life:
-I finished my training for work, and I was a nervous wreck the morning I had to open alone. It actually went very well and I was pleased. So far I haven't had any problems myself, but we have had problems and drama in the store. One of my coworkers walked out on her job, and we had a few other irresponsible people cause stress. These next couple of weeks are going to be pretty stressful, but luckily I'm a strong worker and I know what I'm doing.

-Taran and I spent a day at the aquarium and going on an adventure away from our city. Such fun.

- My birthday was on July 1st and I had such a lovely day! Taran came over Thursday night and stayed up till midnight to tell me "happy birthday". We woke up the next morning and had to babysit for a while because my grandma had chemo that day. {Unfortunate that it was on my birthday, but her health is more important anyway.} The plan for the evening was for everyone to get all dressed up and go have dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. My sweet boyfriend doesn't own anything dressy or fancy so he wanted to run to Ross and see if he could find anything, just for my birthday. We got to Ross for pants, a shirt and socks then swung by Saver's for a pair of fantastic shoes {for only $6! Score!} and made it home in about an hour. We make a good bargain shopping team. We got home and got ready to go, I was so excited to finally get to wear my cute dress! And can I just take a second to talk about how amazing my man looks all dressed up? I mean damn, he's always handsome but when he takes it to the fancy level I feel like I'm going to drool all over.
The restaurant is about an hour away so we had to leave earlier than normal, and luckily I didn't get pulled over because my car isn't registered! {Oops!} We met everyone there and Jerrica greeted me with an awesome crown to wear. I adore my friends.
Dinner was delicious, my drink was yummy, and the cheesecake was to die for. If you've never eaten there I highly suggest you get your booty to the nearest one and enjoy! I opened presents from my lovely friends {2 pairs of earrings and scrapbook paper from Jerr; Urban Decay eyeshadow pallet from Crystal} and the waiters all sang to me and decorated my plate in icing. I had such a great time, and I'm so glad I had my boyfriend and amazing friends there with me!

- Saturday the 2nd was mine and Taran's anniversary. Yes, it's the day after my birthday...it just happened that way! About a month prior he told me that he wanted us to hand make our gifts for each other. I wracked my brain for weeks trying to figure something out, and I knew he was already starting on his. I thought about making him a picture frame, or attempting to paint something. In the end I decided to make him a scrapbook with pages of quotes and little notes with a ton of pictures. I worked really hard on it and it was one project I actually finished! {I have trouble with staying on task with projects...ie: my NYC scrapbook that should have been done 4 years ago ;P }
He was adorable about his present and he wanted me to open it asap, so on our way to The Cheesecake Factory he made me open it. It was probably the most thoughtful and sweet thing anyone has ever made for me. Two metal birds with a heart in the middle, a T on one bird's wing and a B on the other. I almost cried, it was so sweet. Those of you that don't know, Taran is a welder and a damn talented one at that. He hand cut the metal, tacked it, welded it all together and painted it. I am speechless really! He did so so so good.
I wouldn't let him open my present until our actual anniversary, but I will forever have the memory of his reaction in my heart! He was so adorable and sincere about it. As he flipped through the pages he kept saying "this is so great, you are so good, I love it!" Could I possibly love him more than I do?
Financially we are struggling so we couldn't do anything to extravagant, but that is not important to me at all, I just wanted to spend the day with him. We packed a picnic and went to the park to relax and be together. It was very nice, and the weather was perfect!
After our cute picnic we went to a party at my friend Steph's house. She had some people over for swimming and some drinks. It was very fun, and nice to get to hang out with my old coworkers! I miss those crazies!

-The 4th of July was okay....I woke up in a very mad mood and couldn't really shake it off throughout the day. I had to work from 12-7, which is pretty much all day so I missed any fun festivities. I didn't really mind though, I told them since I requested the whole weekend off that I would take the 4th shift...that's only fair.
After work Taran and I went with Jerrica to see fireworks with some other people, and Crystal met us there after work. Fireworks are one of my favorite parts of summer, so despite my semi-crappy day I'm glad I got to see them!

Other than this fun weekend life has been pretty much the same! Except it's very hard to go an entire year working 40 hours a week, to going 3 months unemployed, to working about 10 hours a week and then to suddenly work 30-35 again. It doesn't seem like it would, but it kicks you butt! I've been so tired and worn out, that's another reason I haven't felt much like blogging.
Taran got switched from working swing shifts to day shifts so that means  I'll get to see him a lot more, which is never a complaint by me. He can come hang out on the days that I don't work nights, and we can go on mid-week dates. Sounds good to me :)

Hope all is well with you beautiful bloggers! Expect more updates from me!

My 22nd birthday!

This weekend and handling stress.

1. Went shopping with my awesome mama, she bought me this dress to wear for my birthday!
2. Work. New necklace that mom also bought me, I'm kind of in love with it :)
3. Saturday morning, rockin' the old man shoes. Taran bought me those for $5 at Ross
4. My mom planted that rose, like, last week and it's in full bloom. It's so lovely
5. Saturday night date night with boyfriend. He took me to Applebees, we walked around the mall and then later met up with Crystal and Jerrica for ice cream. {I didn't take a picture of my delicious coffee ice cream with Reese's Pieces. Boo.}
6. After ice cream we went thrift shopping. He finds his work clothes there and since they're second hand they're cheaper and he doesn't worry too much about getting them ruined. Because that happens a lot. He found this awesome John Bender coat and had to pose for me.
7. I came across this little skateboarding raisin guy and got a laugh out of it. Who would use that for decoration??
8. Sunday morning, I just love love love waking up to this handsome man :)
9. I got home from work and Taran had ordered dinner for us. He knew I was craving it and that I was kind of grumpy yesterday. {Thanks babe, you're the greatest}

Let me just start by saying I do an excellent job of stressing myself out. I'm probably the queen of over analyzing and frustrating myself.
The thing is, with me, when I want to do something that I have to learn I want to be able to just do it. For example: I took guitar lessons my Sophomore year of high school and it frustrated me a lot. I didn't like the fact that some things confused me, and I didn't give myself the chance to slow down and actually learn. I want to be able to look at something and be good at it.

This same thing is happening with my new position at work. When I was hired on I had to learn an entire new system, store, policy etc. and then once I got used to that I got promoted so now I'm learning more things.
Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity and I wouldn't take it back.
The problem is, if I mess up something, even though I'm in training, I kind of beat myself up.
I make myself nervous and anxious and stressed.

My very first day on my own is Friday and I'm going to take these next 3 days off work to relax and go over my notes. Hopefully that's all I need and by Friday I'll be more confident and less of a nervous wreck.

When boyfriend is behind the camera...

The whole outfit is from Wet Seal so I shouldn't bother tagging - ha!

He makes me laugh the whole time and tells me: "give me smoldering" "now give me angry!" "now give me something different" ha! What a dork. So this was the best I got out of that little "shoot". Also the dog wanted attention and kept jumping on Taran while he tried to take pictures. {Notice the dog butt in the second picture? Haha!}
These pictures are actually from Saturday, but I didn't get a chance to upload them or blog about it. I got a text from one of my managers Friday night that said 'everyone wear a graphic tee on Saturday!'
 I don't have many graphic tees that aren't Harry Potter or band tees, but I do have this bird one that I am absolutely in love with. Unfortunately I was pretty much the only person to wear a graphic tee! Maybe 2 other girls did. But it's ok because I've been wanting to wear this outfit for awhile now.

So on Sunday, boyfriend, the besties and I decided to bring out our inner child. We all went to lunch at Olive Garden and then afterward we bought chalk and bubbles and went to a local park.
I had a blast! I miss being that age where you could spend hours drawing with chalk and playing on swings. It was so much fun to do it with all my best friends, and to laugh our bums off without worrying about work or school or bills or anything!
I suggest taking some time to relive your childhood days and do something fun like that. I'm looking forward to warm summer days that we can do something like this again....maybe, just maybe I'll bust out the Barbies sometime.

Aren't we just adorable? This is my new favorite picture!
Travis and I climbing up the ladder to the slide!
Taran swinging, ahaha I love it!
Oh yeah, I draw Harry Potter art.
Taran drew all the planets, here is his sun
Saturn
Travis drew Mario themed things, and Crystal drew Hedwig the owl above
My sweet boy :)
Taran, me, Travis and Katie {Crystal took the pic} here's all of us showing off our art!

In a nutshell

This weekend was pretty fabulous! I finally started feeling better and not so mopey, and that's always a plus.
I worked all day Friday which was a nice change from the whole only working 3 hours at a time thing.
Taran got the whole weekend off so I got to spend some quality time with the love of my life. That's always good for me!
L: Midnight junk food run, I know we're so bad. But we do what we want ok? :) R: It was "dress day" at Charlotte Russe and I wanted to wear this cute white one I got at Rue 21 at the end of last summer. I wore a cobalt blue cardigan from Wet Seal and cobalt blue flats from Target {didn't get a pic :( boo} and my cute matching headband from Icing. A customer told me I could be Snow White in Disneyland. Count me in!

Easter, unfortunately, just felt like another day. I'm not a terribly religious person, but I appreciate Easter for what it's about. Normally we would have baskets and hunt for eggs {well, I would eat candy and watch the boys hunt for eggs} but the kiddos went with their dad for Easter. It ended up just being me, mom and Taran which was fine and everything I just missed my bros.
We went to my aunt's house and had lunch, visited, ate chocolate and generally hung out. Afterwards Taran and I took little Stella for a walk along this path near my house. Poor thing has only ridden in a car 1 other time and she was terrified of it. I made Taran hold her and try to calm her down while I drove, even though it was just down the street she was so stressed. Luckily once we parked got out and started walking around she was fine.
Later that night we met Katie and Crystal at Chili's to have some chips, salsa and drinks. Poor Katie had an awful Easter so we wanted to hang out and cheer her up! We ended up having a few drinks and going to Katie's apartment to play "Friends" Scene It! We all thought Taran would kick butt because he loves that show {and he's not ashamed, he's so cool} but Katie won!
It was a lot of fun.

Top L: My cousins had little chicks that they got for Easter and they brought them to my aunts house. They were so cute and had the most adorable little chirp sound. They like to be held too! Top R: Me and Mr. handsome Taran spending the first of many Easters together! Bottom L: The pond near my house where we took Stella. Taran is a little stinker sometimes and won't take cute pictures with me. But sometimes I like the goofy ones better anyway haha. Bottom R: Stella enjoyed the walk to the pond and she kept wanting to chase ducks and other dogs. Please ignore the offensive stuff written on the bench. I didn't notice it until just now. Some people have no class or respect.

Once again I get sad when Monday rolls around, back to work for Taran and his weird shifts mean he just stays home at night. Boo.
But what can ya do? One day we'll have our own place!

Hope everyone had a great weekend and Easter!

Photoshoot!

Yesterday my lovely friend Steph text me and asked me if I would like to pose for her photography! She's extremely talented and I already have her booked as my photographer for my wedding, engagements, bridals...et. Whenever that ends up happening.
Her husband Kenan came with, and I brought Taran along too. We went to an older looking building near some railroad tracks, and luckily the weather was cooperative. I think they turned out really well, Steph even conned Taran into posing with me for some shots. He's so handsome it's ridiculous!
