Chocolate Shakes, Emergency Dresses, and Basement Apartments

Scarf: Wet Seal
Top: Wet Seal
Dress: Ross
Shoes: Rue 21
I woke up Sunday morning feeling 100x less gross and 100% willing to spend time with my best friends. We decided on a dinner date at Red Robin where I felt like treating myself to a pretty large milkshake {which was delicious by the way}
All was fine and dandy until I realized why I had been feeling so sick the past few days, and no it is not pregnancy - it's quite the opposite of pregnancy. Let's just say I realized why I had been so sick while wearing white shorts. Get the gist? Ok then, I don't need to go into detail. We made an emergency pit-stop at Ross because it was literally the only thing open besides Wal Mart at 6:00 on a Sunday in Utah. Luckily I was able to get in there and grab this cute dress that was on clearance for only $8.
Awkward situation? Yes. Learn my lesson? Yes. Pay more attention to the calendar next time? Absolutely.
After our little adventure to Ross we got a tour of Crystal's new apartment! I'm thrilled for her, I think she'll really enjoy having her own space for once without two sisters or 7 other female roommates. {Disney College Program} It's a cute little one bedroom basement apartment that is her very own.
Side-note: Crazy to think that neither of us girls are living with parents anymore, it seems like not too long ago it's all we ever knew. Sometimes thinking about us making it to this part of adulthood freaks me out, but not in a bad way. It just hits me and I think "whoah I've been best friends with Crystal since we were 11 and we are now in our mid twenties...when did that happen?"

Since there is literally nothing exciting to do on a Sunday here we didn't have much else on our agenda. We drove around, talked, laughed and mainly enjoyed each others company which is completely fine with me. I don't see my friends as often as I used to so any time we can just get together is always good.

Awkward issue aside {which I'm fine with laughing about because I was dumb enough to not realize what cold have happened}Sunday was a pretty good day. I'm ready for the work week ahead of me!

Happy Monday friends!

Dumbday, Monday, Tuesday

Sundays are the worst days to work.
For starters I have to get out of bed when I would rather snuggle with my handsome fiance. The days I have off we usually just hang out in sweats and relax together all day long. But unfortunately some days I have to go spend 8 hours at the mall where all the customers are mean and messy. {Seriously though, is there a general rule somewhere that says: "if you go shopping on a Sunday don't forget to be an ass hole"?}
Another reason: it's literally all day. My shift is from 11-7 and since it's winter time I'm coming out of the mall to darkness every time. It's not so bad in the summer, but it still feels like I'm there allll day.

I mean, it's my job and it comes with expectations, one of them being working that occasional Sunday. It's really not a huge deal, and I'm getting paid so I really can't complain.
They just suck.
I'm sure anyone in retail would agree.

Next week though, I'm all about sweat pants and food and Netflix with Taran.

Stress Reliever

Shoes/Jeans/Scarf: Charlotte Russe | Top: Wet Seal
Since my life has been getting frustrating lately, I wanted to hear what you all do in times of stress? What is your go-to mood enhancer? How much better do you feel after?
Here are a few of mine.
  • Sleeping.
I know it's not the healthiest, but if I could just nap away a problem for the time being it usually helps me deal with it better afterwards.
  • Crafting.
It takes my mind of my problem and helps me relax. I'll scrapbook, make cards or create something new.
  • Coffee.
All kinds. Hot or cold. It just makes me feel alright.
  • Circa Survive.
Their music is my favorite thing for any mood any time of the day, but something about cranking it up when I'm feeling down or stressed just helps make things not suck so much.
  • Kissing.
Don't act surprised, have you seen my fiance? Yeah, any chance to get some loving from him makes me feel much better.
  • Shopping.
    No need to explain there.
  • Creating outfits.
Whether it's just goofing around online, or when I'm at work. I love putting stuff together to create a cute look. Re-doing mannequins to wear whatever I want makes my day. It's another way I can just be creative and relax.
I have a tendency to stress out easily, but luckily I've found some things to calm my nerves.
I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Have a wonderful day :)
