Awkward & Awesome Thursday

Hi everyone! Remember me?
I used to blog here a lot, but then I got lazy and boring.

But here I am! And I'm doing an Awkward and Awesome post, because it's been a long time :)

AWKWARD:

• Waking up late and not having time to shave my legs or put any makeup on. Wouldn't be so bad if I wasn't so broke out right now :( I hate being 22 and having acne.
• Getting my hair trimmed and leaving with little hairs all over my face making me look like I need to shave or something. That went really well with the unshaven legs and no makeup.
• Waving at someone you hadn't seen in awhile, and having them not even recognize you. Yikes. I guess it had been awhile...
• Shopping around Rue 21 and getting a little to involved, resulting in forgetting to check the time on my phone. Luckily I finally did because I had to leave to go pick my brothers up from school. That's a true shopaholic there....
• Falling asleep with my phone in my hand, with the light on and randomly snapping out of it not realized what happened. Ever done that? I feel like such a dork when I'm suddenly jerked awake because it's kind of a dramatic act.

AWESOME:

• Getting my hair done! The purple in my hair was so weird...the strands that were dyed had about 1/2 an inch of grow-out, then the middle was a blonde color, and the tips were still dark purple! Crazy! So I decided to just do an all over chocolatey brown color for the fall, and got full bangs. Love it! 
• Seeing my hair girl, who gave birth to her adorable son the week after my last appointment. She told me all about being a mother and I loved seeing her so happy. She's adorable. 
• Free coffee drinks! Thanks Crystal ;)
• Walking out of Rue 21 {after putting my stuff on hold to run and get my brothers} with 4 shirts, a purse, 5 pairs of underwear and a t-shirt for Taran and only spending $30.
• Season premier of The Vampire Diaries was tonight! Man, I missed those dreamy vamps on my tv every Thursday. I have a feeling this season is going to be goooood.
• I GO TO DISNEYLAND ON SATURDAY.

*Happy dance*

what. a. day.

This is how I look after a long long day. But on the bright side, I got that shirt for only $4 at Rue 21. And my purple hair is awesome.

Today is Wednesday and not Thursday...but I have some awkward and awesomes for today that I just have to write about. Mostly awkwards....oy vey.

Awkward:

• Driving around the mall parking lot like an idiot because they're re-paving my side of it. I had no idea where I was supposed to go so I probably looked real dumb flipping around and turning.
• Dropping almost everything all day. Have you ever dropped a flat piece of metal on tile? It's not that easy to pick up, so the person waiting for a dressing room has to watch you try and pick up the stupid number 5 so I can hang it on their door.
• Opening a fitting room for a lady that just wanted to find a necklace to match a top she bought at another store. Then turning around to open another fitting room for someone and opening the door that I had JUST put that lady in. OOPS! I felt like a jackass. I apologized like 50 times :s
• Feeling like a huge creeper introducing myself to Ana. "Um...what's your name? I follow your blog" ha! I think I could have started that off a little better. Damn my shyness when it comes to new people.
• Sending my sales associate upstairs to get me food {I was the only manager on duty so I couldn't leave the store} and her telling me over the headset that my card declined. Neat. I had to call my mom and have her put some money in my account...ishk. Is it pay day yet?
• Looking like I had been crying all day because I didn't wear any eyeliner. That sounds weird, but I feel like I really need eyeliner or I look washed out. Which I did today. 
• Moving like a snail all day long because of the monstrous migraine I had. That's more sucky than awkward actually....it was terrible. I felt like I couldn't do anything and it was making my eyes water that's how bad it was hurting.
• My zipper being down for about 5 hours of my shift. Thank goodness I had a long tank covering it.

Awesome

•  Meeting Ana from Sweet Serendipity! I knew she lived in Utah, but I didn't know she was so close to me! Despite the awkwardness from me, I'm glad I spoke up and mentioned her blog {btw Ana you looked lovely I'm sorry I looked awful haha!}
• My sweet sweet boyfriend coming in to bring me some migraine medicine and Dr. Pepper. He was still in his work clothes and hurried to bring me some stuff before changing/showering. I love that smelly welder hahaha. He really makes me smile, especially when I need it.

Yeah I know how negative this looks...but really it was just one of those days! At least I can laugh about it!
But now I need to get my bum to bed because I'm exhausted and I have to be back at work at 8AM!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

Don't you love the weird lighting in my living room? And the fact that my dog feels the need to be apart of everything I do. I love that little stinker, but she can be a pain!

Awkward!

• Getting hair dye all over my neck at the salon and having it result in looking like huge hickeys. Gross. {If you didn't know red hair dye looks purplish when applied}
• Walking into Starbucks still covered in hair from the hair cut. Especially those little hairs that were all over my face, not cute.
• Taking a nap before work and dreaming that your ex suddenly becomes super religious....also a separate dream where you get lost looking for the park and Raspberry Beret is playing. My subconscious is weird...
• Swapping my schedule around and setting one of my managers up to work a busy morning with one of the worst associates! {I know that sounds rude, but seriously....some people should not work in retail.} I felt so bad! Next time I'm requesting time off way in advance before my hair appointment.
• Recognizing someone that I'm ringing up but debating whether to actually say something, or just keep quiet to avoid coming off as a creeper.

Awesome!

• Finally getting my hair done! It's been way too long and it's desperately needed work done. I'm pretty pleased with the result! Reddish color with some chunky blonde pieces. Fun for summer? Yes.
• Seeing my hair girl's cute preggo belly. She's adorable and I'm excited for her little one! I want one. No I don't. I really don't. Promise. {Not yet.}
• Sneaking a nap in before work, despite the weirdo dreams. Naps rock.
• Dexter. Seriously, I am addicted to it! Taran bought season 1 on Saturday and I finished it Monday night. Then I started season 2 that same night! It's intense and awesome. I recommend it if you like crime shows, or serial killer shows. {That sounds weird, but some people are intrigued by serial killer type shows....}
• Hanging out with old friends that I haven't seen in awhile. I used to be super close to those guys and things happened and we all kind of drifted apart. It was nice to get to catch up and see them again! Hopefully we don't go another year without hanging out!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday!

AWKWARD

• The way my outfit looked prior to putting my shirt on. Basically my tights go up past my belly button, and my jeans are low rise. Envision it, it's pretty funny.
• Being really careful while applying my black eyeshadow and avoiding getting it all over underneath my eyes. Then seeing that I somehow got in underneath my nose. Darn.
• Seeing girls I went to school with come into my store. I always assume they don't remember me, but I don't want to ask so I just pretend I don't know them. It's incredibly awkward.
• Getting hit on by some random dude. He walks in the store, I greet him just like I'm supposed to and he says to me: "I just had to come in here and tell you that you look better than this whole store" Oh. Um...thanks. Flattering, but awkward nonetheless. 
• Ordering at Rancheritos, where English is clearly not their first language. "Can I get a beef taco with just cheese" "Ok a fish taco with cheese?" "No no beef" ay yi yi
• Pouring hot sauce out of the little plastic container and not paying attention to the fact that it's still slightly indented in from squeezing it. Thus making it 'pop' back to original shape and spray the hot sauce all over and of course directly into my eyeball. Ouch.
• Yelling at my TV because The CW cut off the last 10 minutes of The Vampire Diaries. But seriously! I don't care about re-runs of That 70s Show! Hold on a minute and let me see what happens with Bonnie damn it.

AWESOME

• Waking up next to my snuggly little puppy. She makes everything better I swear!
• Having my hair do exactly what I wanted it to do and turn out perfect! This is a rare occasion because my hair is kind of a hot mess. Especially when it's the way it is now - large and in charge and in need of a trim!
• My outfit today! Have you ever rocked tights underneath destroyed denim? It's very cute to see a little lace peeking under instead of skin. I feel like a rock star when I wear it.
• Having time to myself before actually heading to work, since usually I'm rushing. I'm horrible at time management most days
• Getting to have one of those days where I think "yes, I look good today." Ladies; it's ok to look in the mirror and like what you see :)
• Mom sending me a video of my little brother singing along to The Yellow Submarine. Makes me a proud big sis!
• Taran coming over after work tonight! 
• Matthew Davis. 'Nuf said. Oh and he's also from Utah - represent!

Awkward & Awesome Thursday

AWKWARD

• Jumping so intensely when my alarm went off at 6:30 that I knocked my glasses into the garbage
• Resetting my alarm clock for a not so "alarming" sound, and then having it not go off again :/ {thanks for getting me up mom}
• Feeling bloated from the junk food I ate yesterday and squeezing into skinny jeans.
• Attempting to clean windows at work, wearing said jeans and trying to avoid giving all the early morning mall walkers a show/heart attack. I had to yank up the jeans and pull down the shirt way too many times. {That's a sign that I should start eating healthier and exercising. Bleh.}
• This ridiculous weather that is spilling all over Northern Utah! It started as a thunderstorm with rain and turned into me scraping about 3 inches of snow off my car when I left Crystal's house. Oh I'm sorry Utah, did you mistake April for December?
• The girl at work telling me she'd swap me shifts and then later asking me if she could keep her shift and still take mine. Uh....nooo, if that was the case I would have just asked you to take it.

AWESOME

• The storm/rain providing excellent nap/cuddle weather. We could have slept all day if Taran didn't need to get up and go to work.
• Getting my shift swapped so that I can go see my dad's new band play their first show!
• Making an awesome PB&J and eating it with Cheetos Puffs and a big glass of milk. I felt like a kid.
• Making it to work riiiight on time when I thought I was going to be extremely late. For once I didn't have to deal with people who are rushing and don't bother to have proper driving etiquette.
• Hanging out with Crystal and Jerrica laughing at silly videos {watch it, I promise you'll laugh!} and talking about future trips to Vegas and Disneyland. Also watching the new Vampire Diaries
• The new episode of The Vampire Diaries! Finally. Seriously, why do my favorite shows have to take so many hiatuses? It makes me sad, especially when I get really into the season. But vampires are back, and the episode was awesome. Can't wait to see more.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday!

AWKWARD

• Scrubbin' around the house and being lazy, waiting until I get a phone call to actually get ready for the day.
• Having no time to actually get ready, thus throwing my greasy hair into a weird kind-of ponytail thing. {It's not quite grown out enough to just pull it up...so it's like a half pulled and then the bottom half is pulled up and I tie it all together, so it pretends to be a regular ponytail.}
• Almost getting hit 3 times in the same intersection on my way to work. That's more scary than awkward actually! Um, attention Utah driver in the mini-van: you can't just make your own lane...that's why there are white lines indicating there are 2 lanes. You can't just make a third!
• The fact that I got pulled over at that very same intersection for an improper left turn, and yet everyone else seems to do it. Now that I follow the law I almost get rear ended daily! Frustrated much?
• Rushing to apply lipstick. It just doesn't work that way folks, you gotta take your time, trust me.
• Attempting to talk to Amy over the headset and thinking she was ignoring me. Her headset wasn't even on.

AWESOME

• Getting called in to work! More hours for me = more money!!
• The beautiful weather today. It was in the 50s and that makes me smile. Spring is coming.
• Not having much to do at work, so basically just getting paid to hang out....I'm down with that.
• Visiting my old coworker/friend Doni and getting a great deal on some stuff. {Seriously now: $15 for a pair of jeans, a skirt and 2 tops. I could not pass that up.}
• Breakfast burritos. 'Nuff said.
• My crazy family taking goofy pictures together and my mom sword fighting with plastic sticks with Quade. Ending up in a dog pile and lots of laughter. My family is amazing.
• Four. Days. Til. Vegas.

Awkward & Awesome

 AWKWARD

• Going to RC Willey with Taran after only a short amount of time to get ready. Bed head + hat - makeup = me looking homeless.
• My pictures today, which I had to take quickly with my iPhone in the kitchen. After I fixed myself up I had to go to work...so this was the best I got!
• Absolutely NO parking spaces at Noodles & Co. therefore having to park clear across the lot in the Pet Co. stalls that are marked "Pet Co. Parking Only"
• Coming home from lunch with boyfriend, snuggling, getting extremely comfortable and JUST about to fall asleep when we realize we have to get up and get ready for work. Boo.
• Not being able to figure out the damn headset at work and going the first hour of my shift unsure if it was even on. Whoops. :s
• Learning a whole new job after being at the old one for so long you could have probably done everything in your sleep.
• Driving and eating....yeah that's probably just a bad idea...

AWESOME

• Going with Taran to pick up the awesome bed he bought with his tax return! It's beautiful! I like that he bought it with me in mind, for our future place C:
• Cuddling. 'Nuff said.
• Spending the morning with boyfriend looking at furniture and having lunch together.
• Despite everything being new, I'm catching on to the new job quickly and my manager already scheduled me to work the floor set on Sunday. That's good news to me!
• My puppy is finally better {better meaning, she was in heat for the past 2 weeks and has had to stay outside or in her cage.} and I missed her! She's my snuggle buddy when Taran isn't here c:
• Yelling at my TV {or maybe that's awkward? No it's awesome.} because of the epic-ness that was the new episode of The Vampire Diaries!
• 18 days until Vegas.

Awkward & Awesome Thursday!

AWKWARD

• Those photos! I mean...ack. Just ignore the fact that I'm wearing a white sweater and standing against a white wall, and the fact that my legs are crossed awkwardly in almost all of them, and the fact that I look gnarly. But hey, I was in a hurry and the camera was dying. Cut me some slack :)
• The fact that I just described myself as gnarly.
• Waking up real sweaty. {Tmi? Probably, but awkward all the same}
• Making my friends wait for me to get ready...sorry guys :S thanks for still loving me
• Making fun of people in Ross, and then realizing we probably act more stupid than anyone.
• Some of the formal dresses we saw while shopping....I mean, really. "Hi, these are my curtains" - Jerr.
• DSW not having ANY shoes! Seriously, the rows were almost empty :(
• Buyers remorse...I shouldn't have bought that skirt, but it was just calling my name. It wanted me to purchase it and take it home and mix and match it with everything. Plus, it was the last small...so that's a sign right?

AWESOME

• I GOT THE JOB! I GOT THE JOB! I GOT THE JOB! I start Monday!! HOORAY!
• I have some money! It's my tax refund so it needs to be saved for Vegas, but still...it's something.
• The adorable skirt I bought today. I've looked at it forever, and I've wanted to buy it but have been way too poor. Plus, it's the first thing I've bought myself since December.
• Hanging out with the besties! They can make me laugh until I think I'll pee myself. {Again, tmi? Oh well!}
• The fact that I'm going to Vegas in less than a month!
• The new Vampire Diaries episode!! Holy cow! I was on the edge of my seat, biting my nails. Those are the kind I love.
• My hair is getting longer...I rarely ever straighten it because it gets really thick and I haven't had a trim in over a month, but I did it today and I was impressed with the length. I just wish it would grow faster!
• I found the Circa Survive issue of AP {from July!} at Hot Topic for only $5
• Words With Friends....I love it, and I kind of rule.
